KEVIN J. EGAN, MD
After completing Pre-Med at State University
of New York at Buffalo, Kevin J. Egan was undaunted by the unavailability
of a stateside Medical School admission, subsequently attending University
of Guadalajara in Mexico. He then transferred to the State University
of New York at Buffalo, where he completed his American Medical Degree.
Dr. Egan then began postgraduate education in General Surgery Internship
at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, before accepting an Orthopaedic
Surgery Residency. This initially started in Akron Ohio, before transferring
to the larger opportunity in the Bronx, New York affiliated with Albert
Einstein University School of Medicine. Upon completion of his Orthopaedic
Surgery Residency, Dr. Egan successfully completed his written Orthopaedic
Board Examination, as he furthered his training. This additional training
consisted of a Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction Surgery at the Hospital
for Joint Diseases in Manhattan, New York.
After completing his training, Kevin J. Egan, M.D.
began practice in 1993 in Essex County, NJ where his fellowship adequately
prepared him for some of the difficulties of reconstructing failed joint
replacements. He has been a successful clinician, maintaining a malpractice-free
status, while caring for all aspects of the musculoskeletal system for
all ages. This includes developmental and degenerative disorders, as
well as acute and traumatic events such as sports injuries. Dr. Egan
has also devoted part of his practice to the understanding and care
of occupational injuries. He acknowledges the need to return the employee
to health and productivity. This quality has placed him on the panels
of some of the largest Worker's Comp contracts in Essex County. Combine
that characteristic with his training and capability of caring for the
more complex conditions has given Dr. Egan the reputation for handling
the toughest cases and the "toughest patients".
